John 4:21. Jesus said unto her, woman , believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
V.22. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship:for salvation is of the Jews.
V.23. But the hour cometh, and now is , (from this time). when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in thruth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
V.24. God is a Spirit:and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 1:17. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth was given by Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:3. For we are the circumcision (the believers in Jesus Christ, not the natural Jew.), which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus(the truth), and have no confifedence in the flesh (church buildings/religious works, etc.).
Deuteronomy 30:6. And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thine soul, that thou mayest live.
Jeremiah 4:4. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart (see v.3).
V.3. For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, break up your fallow ground and sow not among thorns. (God is talking about the heart condition of a sinful people.)
Matthew 13:7. And soem fell among thorns: and the thorns sprang up, and choked them: (the seed is the word of God-the truth-v.9.) Jesus explained in V.22 –He also that received seed among thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word and he becomes unfruitful.
Jesus warns us of the cares of this world-dont get involve-Lk.21:34,35.
Luke 21:34. Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness; and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
V.35. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
V.36. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 18:1. And he (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint;
Prayer is part of our lifestyle of worship to God , and we know God answers the prayer of the righteous-Look a Luke 11:-
V.1. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
V.2. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
We start our prayer by worshipping God first, ie., to declare his goodness above all things, extol his virtues and give praise and glory and pray for his will to be done in our lives every day so that we may live a godly life.
Then we can petition for our daily needs and give thanks for his word-our daily bread. We ask God to help us to have a forgiving heart (70×7), realising how much we have been forgiven by God whilst we were yet sinners. We ask God to lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil as his word is hid in our heart that we sin not (Ps.119:11). His word guides us on our daily walk (Ps.119:105.).Always recognizing all glory, and praise, and honour, and power, is to God in his kingdom forever. We can clearly see that if our heart condition is cluttered with the mess of this world then we are already snared by the cares of this world.
Mark 11:22. (Jesus made it so simple). Have faith in God.
Why!!?? Because God is all truth. If we really put all our faith in God then we are walking in thruth, we have cast all our cares on him and we are able to take up his yoke and learn form him how to live a life of constant worship to God and being ready to declare his goodness to all who may ask to the hope that they see in us (1Peter 3:15).
OUR HEARTS MUST BE SET ASIDE FOR THE LORD..,
Jeremiah 29:12-14. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me WITH ALL YOUR HEART, and I will be found of you saith the LORD…
Psalm 37:4. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
V.5. Commit thy ways unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
V.6. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgement as the noonday.
V.7. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him;….
V.9…. but those that wait upon the LORD (born again), they shall inherit the earth.
Isaiah 40:31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings as eagles;they shall run,and not be weary;and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 30:18…for the LORD is a God of judgement: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Isaiah 64:4. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen,O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waitheth for him.
Psalm 33:20. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
TEACH ME LORD. TEACH ME, LORD, TO WAIT. If our whole lifestyle is centred around the word of God (Jesus ) and totally committed to him by and through prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving,we are worshipping in spirit and in truth: and God who is faithful will receive us. Remember-weMust first be born again.
